Keeping Time User Guide

Keeping Time is fully open and it projects are human-readable by design.

But sometimes when you are editing confidential lists (for example if you are managing employee times), you might not want every passer by to just be able to see your open lists when your machine is unattended for a bit.

This is where the Lock feature comes into play.

When enabled in the Settings, the Welcome Center, as well as the List Window will show buttons in the title bar to lock Keeping Time.

When locked, all open windows from all projects will be hidden and the dialog below will show up.

Enter the password set in the Settings to restore all windows to their former position.

Note that this feature only hides the open windows - your machine is still usable and if someone knows where to find the files, they can see open them directly.

This feature is intended to prevent access to quick passer-bys, not as a high-security measure.
