The Welcome Center is your starting point into Keeping Time.

By default it will automatically show up when starting the application, but you can change this in the Settings.

WelcomeCenter

At the very top in the title bar, you'll find the General UI elements for showing the online help, a quickstart tutorial and the available keyboard shortcuts.

Lock

The Lock button to the right of the title bar will lock Keeping Time, if that feature is enabled in the Settings.

Help

The Help button shows the Online Help in a separate window. This button will show the start page; you can go directly to a particular page for the respective window by clicking the ? button in the title bar.

About

The About button will show the About screen, where you can call up the changelog and the license terms, and of course check your current version.

Timer

The Timer button calls up a Quick Timer (the the respective section), which allows you to record a time span into KT's memory to be used in any list.

Interval Timer

The Interval Timer calls up a new window that works like a kitchen timer. It allows you to organize your work into periods of repeating work and break periods and is a great tool for productivity.

Work Vault

The Work Vault collects work times from various sources that are not part of any specific project. You can import its times individually into any timelist, record new times, and much more.

Settings

Here you can change the application Settings, configure backups and check for updates.

Help

The Help button calls up the Keeping Time help site (which you are browsing right now).

Recent Projects

This area will show your recently opened files; new files are added as you open them. Right-click any entry for a context menu where you can delete entries or reset the list.
Use the search bar at the top to search the list of files.

Project Templates

This area will show all project templates, both factory and your own; see Project Templates for more information. Right-click any entry for a context menu where you can edit a template, etc.
Use the search bar at the top to search the list of templates.

 Project Properties

When you select a project, its properties will be shown to the right. The General tab shows its path, project information and the number of lists in the project.

The Lists tab shows details about all lists, including their colour and name. An asterisk (*) denotes the active list that will be shown when showing the List Window.

Open/Open Other

When a recent file is selected, use the Open button to open that file.

Open Other lets you select a file on your system to open. When opening a file, Keeping Time will check it for validity and offer to update it if it is from an earlier version.

Autoload

If loading a project automatically is enabled in the Settings, this button will be visible and will show that project again if you closed it.

New Project

This button will create a New Project.
