Project Templates

Project templates allow you to create a new project on the basis of an existing one.

When you open a project template from the Welcome Center, instead of the project opening directly, you're asked for a new filename to save the project based on that template to.

Templates otherwise are like regular projects, so you can use them to save a pre-made collection of lists (like one for every month) which you can then re-use as many times as needed.

They can contain entries, attachments, etc...

Default Templates

Keeping Time comes with some default templates out of the box. These are saved in the installation folder and can not be edited. When you try to edit one, you're asked to create a copy elsewhere.

User Templates

You can save any project as a template and it will be saved in the UserTemplates folder without your user folder (see Local vs. Portable). These templates can be edited by right-clicking on them in the Welcome Center.

Creating your own Templates

To make your own templates, just create a project and set it up however you need. Then choose Tools - Export as Template in the Project Window, enter a name - done! Your new template will now show up in the Welcome Center.

"3rd-party Templates"

You can easily copy template between systems or from other people. Just put them in your UserTemplates folder. Note, though, that they may reference attachments that are not available!
